My Morning Jacket – Same in Any Language Lyrics 3 years ago
The Song was in the Elizabeth Town movie and was co-written by its director, Cameron Crowe, and Nancy Wilson, his wife at the time. \n\nNot having seen the movie, my first thought of the song was that the meaning of brotherhood is cross-cultural; it\'s the same in any language. The reference to a Navajo in Tokyo reminded me of the Navajo code talkers in WW2 who helped provide coded (Navajo language) communications for the Marines in the pacific war against the Japanese. If that\'s the reference, it\'s ironic since the Navajo language was used as code and couldn\'t be understood by most. The reference to Tripoli could be another reference to the Marines (freedom fighters). It\'s in the Marine hymn. If you are a boomer (born after WW2), the song reference was ubiquitous in US culture. \n\nNot sure about the rest. Amsterdam has old buildings with a lot of windows and legal drug use. "Jack" might be a reference to money.
