| Birth is the time of greatest vulnerability for life. Winter is the most harsh season to be born into. The Winterborn begin their lives in struggle and if they survive grow stronger through trial. This song is about a winterborn person who finds themselves in war, drawing on the strength of their own indomitable vitality to defend others, to be the light to others by putting his life on the line fighting, knowing that he may be sacrificing his life for them. The song is about warriors and soldiers but the same spirit may animate a Mother with that toughness struggling for her children or a man or woman in other walks of life who must take risks, fight through challenges, try to prevail to protect and carry those they love. The song appeals to me at many levels, speaks of a series of great life struggles fought for others at personal risks. | |
