The odd self reference (I would like to hold my little hand) suggests that he\'s imagining going back to talk to his younger self, like he wishes he could guide his younger self with the knowledge of experience. But when he says \'send me on my way\' who\'s he talking to? If \'you\' is implied, is he projecting himself into his younger mind, therefore addressing his present self? Or is he speaking of the memories and experience of his younger self, meaning that he is where he is because of his life experiences? |
