I think that is related to the song “illicit affairs” in which she also says the line “don’t call me kid. Don’t call me baby.” That indicates that she had a love affair with an older person and I think it’s John Mayer. Just like in this song where she says “Just between us did the love affair maim you too” and “you said that if we had been closer in age we would have been fine”.
