I think this song is about a person trying to propose at a beach \n\n"We were playing in the sand\nAnd you found a little band"\n\nthe band is referring to a ring, a band. Of course, the narrator had planned to give it to the other person, before they found it, hence the "hadn\'t gone as i planned"\n\nI think the narrator tries to get the ring/band back again so they can actually propose, under the excuse that they want to "fall in love with it to"\n\nWhen the second person refuses in a playful manner, the narrator might feel like the other is trying to dismiss their feelings. \nThe "buy me a pony" line could also be interpreted as the other making some request that they know the narrator can\'t fulfill, essentially turning them down.\n\nOverall, amazing song! i like the demo version a lot, and i enjoyed hearing other\'s takes on the meaning :) |
