I remember in the spring of 2013 we were flying a mission to Syria to try to influence a cease fire of the civil war that has just kicked up. We had learned to connect our Ipods to the C5 intercom system and the 1st song I heard was this Kid Rock song at 0200 hrs on a super cold ramp in Germany headed down range to Syria. It was a little scary but man what a wasted mission that was as the civil war still goes on today.
I look at this song as just a song, not supporting war but not dragging us GI's down either. Just Kid making a statement of our political process on war. I could be totally wrong? |

This is a great tune no doubt... This is a veteran and quite possibly from the Vietnam era or Korea who is very sad and quite depressive. He fought in the Navy on Uncles ship and when he got home, he couldn\'t vote, which bring in the race item. \nI\'m sorry about that, but as a white male, I remember coming home from the middle east in Desert Storm to Westover ARB for the night before heading to Dover, and our bus taking us to a hotel got egged by war protesters, so we all get it sometime, but some get it more than others. \nI also feel the last verse is about the old man\'s wife who took care of him because of his bitterness. \nAgain, many vets are suffering but there is help if they want it. I work a lot to get vets help for the ones who think they can\'t get any help. \nGreat song and I hope the writer shares what lead him to write it. |

What a great classic 80\'s rock song!! Can\'t believe there are not more comments, but this song takes me back to leaving east TN 1981 and the AF stationed me in Sacramento CA! I was serving in the AF and running around California and my 1st ride down Sunset in LA in my 72 Nova with the windows down and this song cranked up as loud as my stereo would go... I miss those days now more than ever! I also like to rock! |

This is another great ELO song that yes, good cruising song along any beach coast in the world... This song relates today more than it did when it was first laid out. \nOur world is so depressed & suicidal today when all the social media is in the "transmitter" and we focus on what we aint got so we are "bitter" just hold on to the positive aspects in our life and it will be "alright, alright, alright". \n\nAnd it seems we have social media stars leaving our planet for the "other" social media star and they both focused on the other, so they are gone. Instead of looking at their own beliefs and know it will be alright. \nThats what it means to me. |

Hes obviously seen a girl that her eyes have captivated him, and he wants to give her the life he thinks she deserves with those eyes she has! I agree HELENz, it\'s a great song! It\'s about what we all can relate too and that\'s getting old when living a hard life. Lost relationships who couldn\'t handle the hard life, who checks up on him to see if he\'s still alive.\n I once had a 95yo guy tell me, getting old isn\'t always fun, but it\'s better than the alternative of dying young. Well said old timer!! Great ballad song! |

And I always thought it was about all the crazy people we all have seen who tell outrageous stories to remain relevant in their very own life! \nBut Alyxx comment makes good sense as well.
