| Based on the music video alone I’d say this is a song about yearning for the past, and based on the lyrics alone I’d say it’s about a girl and a relationship that ended in high school in 1974 to 1975. First year? Second year? Doesn’t really matter.\n\nMy interpretation is that the lyrics is about yearning for the past. How everything was easier in the past. The joy we all had as teenagers and young adults before life’s realities came crashinc down on us, not every thing is as cut and dry as things used to be, your dreams and ambitions turned out to only be a dream and a wish.\n\nIt is also about a very special girl and how that relationship ended and how he later met this girl. And when he «looks into her eyes he sees he’s glad he has moved on and kinda glad it is over, although he remember their good times together. He feels she has no right or reason to come visit him again with the rain pouring outside to set a perfect mood, it stirs up all these emotions in him and it aggravates him hence the «there’s no reason and got no reason» The same voice meaning his same internal voice is coming back saying get this woman out of your life and this is not good he feels time slowing down and these emotions are overpowering him.\n\nAnd it is never easy to say goodbye to someone that used to fill your heart, what was said all those years back is still relevant when he gets the picture that she wants to get back together.\n\nI feel, to sum up, that again this song is about yearning for the past because the present is much worse and also about a failed relationship from the very same past.\n\nIt is an incredible song so honest, so direct, so relatable, no holding back no sugar-coating anything. Pure emotions and the rest of the band helps make this song and melody a forever classic, forever. They may be a one-hit wonder but with a song like this that is just fine.
