I doubt you have been on this page for a long, long time - this post was made only a month after I was born - but I still think I am obliged to argue that Courtney certainly didn’t have Cobain killed. If you have ever been in love, you know that the person you are in love with becomes the most important thing to you, you love them more than fame and certainly more than money. And at that point in their lives, Courtney definitely felt that way about Kurt - she had just had a child with him! Paying to have him killed would have been a completely unthinkable act to her. The “Kurt was murdered” theory is an interesting one, but when you really examine it, there is just no evidence there. Also, if that’s what the song was about wouldn’t the lyric be something more like “and I paid?” |
