Very obviously this song is about the War on Terror and American Ideology post 9/11. The first line "I know they are watching" is about the surveillance of Americans and the Patriot act. The sex on fire is a metaphor for our displaced desire. The brutal imagery of bleeding and sex. Death and life is suppressed in a ideology of Greatness "We are the greatest". |

This song is actually about the war on terror and nu metal. The song is told from the perspective of the personification of the pre 9/11 American psyche Nu metal used to "punch through drywall" But now she "the war on terror" is having a baby that the narrator "American culture pre 9/11" could never have. Nu metal was betrayed by the Bush administration. |
