it´s clearly about a breakup. Another relationship gone wrong. The words describe desperation and a feeling of being a prisioner in a relationship. but suddenly the desperation turns arround; why??? Well, 2 aspects: 1) The positive: "don´t get to lost in all I say Yeah by the time I really felt that way But that was then, and now you know it's today These 3 verses makes us believe that Love is a work in progress thing, an ever evolving and changing "thing" You can be desperate but if there is a drop of love and there is committment to work things arround it is possible to build up almost any relationship. 2) The dark side I can't get off, I guess I'm here to stay 'Til someone comes along and takes my place, yeah With a different name, oh, and a different face This is the Complacency side of Love. I stay because I can´t get off... I guess I´m here to stay. |
