@[DuTcHoVeN:38613] I’ve seen interpretations saying that marijuana is alluded to in the Bible. The Nazirites, which Samson was, seem to have a particular affiliation with the herb. The Bible doesn’t say outright if Delilah gave Samson some devil’s lettuce or not, but it does add to the narrative in a meaningful way and isn’t too far fetched. The point is simply that she lulled him into a sense of security and used everything at her disposal, a.k.a. sex, maybe drugs, etc. |

@[Levitator89:38612] “You break my arms” refers to Samson’s strength being lost as his hair is cut, and “You spoon my eyes” refers to the enemies gouging his eyes out when he is captured. I love the juxtaposition of the tender line about sleeping on her belly with the visceral violence and betrayal of the following two lines. |
