I left our farm to go to college and it was major culture shock. I was exposed to "punk" and alternative music and loved it. In 1980 I heard the Cure for the first time and knew my life would never be the same. A Forest was the first thing I heard and I was in love with the sounds and lyrics. I took 14 yrs of piano and this just got me. I listened only to them and none of my b friends liked it or got me at all. I was very depressed and no one understood except b these lyrics suggested someone did, albeit in a foreign country. But it didn't matter. With my headphones Robert was singing just to me and at least someone got my dark moods, anxiety, panic attacks. I love the Cure, have seen them 9x and will always love them even though we're all old now!! |

This is one of my favorites! That bass!! The lyrics are on point for first love, it's disappointing and like Darren Hayes said in Step Into the Light, I've never been in love before, and according to these lyrics, that's probably a good thing! |
