Kimya Dawson – Sunbeams and Some Beans Lyrics 2 years ago
Time for an update. Since this was written, I've caught up with Kimya a few times. Turns out, she suffers from memory loss and doesn't remember our creative session where she literally copy and pasted some of the things I wrote and used them for lyrics. She may never have researched the blog, what Heartland was up to, (Research Heartland Plowshares) what Jeff's legacy was, the community was currently in mourning over his when we chatted and was fresh. Whether or not the song's creation story is ever reconciled, it still had a healing affect on a few souls I am sure.

She had a friend Grand, they met Sam Champion, a hero of his, he displayed his gardening and nature skills, and she quotes a saying from her Grandma. Ironically, mine shared the same type of words with me.

She may or may not someday remember the creative musings from my end, but if she does or doesn't, it's fine. A great song is a great song. Especially when sung by one that gives so much and takes so little.

But do know, Kimya is one beautiful person, and as a slight on a later conversation, threw us a song titled Utopian Dreams which is peak Solar Folk Punk anthem imo.
