The title Remember Tomorrow suggest that the authors inner dialogue is one of self reassurance, reminding himself what he is doing this for. Perhaps on his way to a sorty or bombing raid. I get the impression of a fighter plane or bomber, breaking through the clouds, from the dank and grey world below to the sunshine and light above the clouds. A blast of light and colour, unchained before his eyes. Perhaps giving him some comfort. Yesterdays sorrows, tomorrow's white lies... the ralities of War and how they affect one and how we cover them up with white lies. Scanning the horizon it feels as if he is floating on the clouds as they lift him higher, perhaps lifting his spirits somewhat, that he will survive this one and return. Tears of remembrance.... etc He has mixed emotions of all the sorrow and tears felt by him, and wondering if there will be tears for him. Above him the Sun shines down reminding him of the eye of his God that seas everything and is looking down upon him. The last vers, a repeat of the first. The crescendo as he enters into the Fire of the battle.... |
