This was the first song acoustically I played in front of my friends way back in 2001. Never knew what was the song about then, cause I only cared about is I dunno. I like it immediately upon hearing it. But there came one moment in my life when I felt so alone and this song popped into my head. Been singing this in karaoke where few and mostly no one knows it. My brother thought I sounded like Anthony and friends agreed as well. So this became my go-to song every time I was asked to sing a song. |

I heard this song for the first time in TV series Smallville. An episode where Clark's emotions is the song. Seeing Lana happy doing things she couldn't when they were together, things he'd said to make her choose marrying his enemy is playing in loops that turn into madness. That day I got hooked to the song and wanted to hear the full version. And when I heard the lines... Do the things that you always wanted to and Without me there to hold you back, don't think just do... That saddens and made me happy as well. Somehow I kinda relate cause I felt the same way for my ex. I could not say it to her but thanks to this cause I could tell it to her in a song. I knew she is and been happy. |
