The Front Bottoms – Peach Lyrics 4 years ago
@[CORPSErawr:36878] They've talked about what it means. Brian wrote it about his girlfriend, there's nothing related to rape. I think you thought about it because of the second stanza, I see it more like a metaphor and representation of the fights that happen in a relationship and how they can make it up and feel better after it because that's what happens in most of the relationships, right? If it's a tiny cut, you can wipe it up. Fights are normal between any couple and since it's just a tiny cut (metaphorically, I would never stand for literally hurting someone). And the end seems just like a normal couple thing, the thing about missing you and caring about you etc.

I'm not saying you're wrong, you did your own reading of the song based on your life and that's great! I just wanted to show you what I think. Have a wonderful day!

The Neighbourhood – Cry Baby Lyrics 4 years ago
I think it's about an anxious person falling in love with someone who has the habit of lying and it makes them feel much worse because they'll overthink more and more even if they don't want to. They're trying to get better and stop being a "cry baby" and then boom: love for someone who isn't trustful. They don't want to fall in love but they aren't dumb and know what's happening and there's nothing to do but accept it and try to balance this love and their "healing".

Cavetown – Nostalgia in My Bedroom Lyrics 4 years ago
I think it's about a relationship that ended years ago and kind of "traumatized" the speaker. They are afraid of letting people go, that's why they "sacrifice their soul" doing everything others want just to please and maintain them close. Even though they do this effort and have people they love close to them, they miss their ex-friend/ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend a lot. Looking back is frightining and pleasureble at the same time: "everybody scares me but you/ nobody scares me but you". The memory of the "better days" is sweet but also hurtful because it will never come back.

Los Campesinos! – Sweet Dreams Sweet Cheeks Lyrics 4 years ago
@[robbyisstupid:36857] Now that you said it, I think you're right. The most part of the lyrics can be read picturing a person being paralized (maybe for clinical reasons). Maybe the cheeks are bruised because the speaker can't move them the way they want and the dreams are all they have besides laying in the bed. Things around annoy them that much because they can't do anything to change it since they're "trapped" and it hurts emotionally (and maybe physically).
