King Crimson – Walking on Air Lyrics 4 years ago

I forgot to add, the worries of the "day" and the secrets of the "night" represent life and death respectively. You put down your worries about life and figure out the secrets of death.

I think it's about death.

"Close your eyes", implies that the narrator is not really there in the physical world, like a spirit of a loved one or god or something.

"I'll be standing by your side in between the deep blue sea and the sheltering sky." The subject being spoken to by the spirit is in between the realms of life and death (sea represents life, sky death), and the spirit is there to guide them, standing by their side.

"If we find no words to say to the rhythm of the waves", final words on the subject of life.

"Then we both surrender there", as in stop fighting to stay alive. "Walking on air", you're a spirit with no physical form.

"And the worries of the day lie down under cover of the fading clouds." You don't have to worry about the troubles of your life anymore because you're dead.

"The secrets of the night come alive in your eyes", is probably the most telling lyric. No body knows what happens after death, but not only do you find out after death, but you actually experience it first hand. The secrets "come alive" to you and become your new reality.

"You don't have to hurry. You don't have to try. Cause you don't have a care" means there is no urgency to move into the light, you can just sort of relax and let death take you, since you don't care about things that concern living people anymore.
