I like to theorize that it's Judas essentially letting his frustrations and anger out at God just before killing himself. After betraying Jesus, he became distraught and after some thought, he understood his true purpose and let his wrath out at God, saying how God created him just to be a burden for Christians and then realizing how God's desire to become flesh (Jesus) was actually to blame for humanity's major downfall. Then, at the end of the song and he has finished verbally bashing God, he kills himself (for you that don't know the Bible, Judas kills himself) Basically, Judas claims that God's selfish desire to become flesh, cost the reputation and status of a chosen man who was destined (by God) to betray...God in the flesh. In Judas' eyes, God's basically a narcissist. His rage is fused with the lyrics, "why me?" Very upset with why HE had to be the one who was chosen. Is a selfish argument against a selfish deity. My interpretation. |
