| The Clientele – (I Can't Seem To) Make You Mine Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| @[joossens:38090] I love this interpretation. The moths rising from his moth eaten burial clothes at he wanders. He’s been dead a while, sees her and doesn’t understand why he can’t reach her. Why he can’t seem to make her his. The title was always curious. He doesn’t understand because when he sees her, he feels alive. The crowd pulling you away could also just mean the living if he as wandered away from the land of the dead into the living. And the ivy growing over his headstone, that craws deep into the ground...curling around his hand tugs on his wandering spirit. It’s teying to bring him back to the land of the dead. He’s trying so hard to talk to her, touch her, let her know that he loves her...the rain has brought the night and he must leave her. | |
