| Mother Mother – Neighbour Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| i think it’s not at all a song about a neighbor peeping into the person next door’s room, i think it’s more about how fucked the world is. ‘the world being fucked up’ is a recurring theme for mother mother; the stand is about sins, infinitesimal is about that we don’t really matter compared to the bigger picture (earth is small compared to the rest of the universe and we act like the biggest) and verbatim is about the stereotypes (femine males and masculine women being seen as gay and lesbian, even though they could still be hetero, ryan literally sang ‘what defines a straight man straight?’). in my view, neighbour is about not having privacy, even when you think you have. there’s always something wachting and that’s scary and fucked up. neighbour is also in a theme of everyone being the same (at least one other person went through the same things). but, this is my opinion and i could be wrong. | |
