@[jalapenachris:36079] no he wears short sleeves long ago...long sleeves now. His addiction to heroin was way back in the day. He overcame it just like alcohol & cigarettes. But when he was younger he ALWAYS wore short sleeves. Now he never does. So maybe he has scars but it was close to 20 years ago so I doubt it

@[Me2:36078] No it is not about God...it's about addiction & overdose at the end. Dave battled with it in his early years. Don't read more into it. Been a fan since 96...I know about his addictions to cigarettes & alcohol too. He beat all of them. It's about addiction & in the end overdose. It's an awesome song this addict in recovery appreciates it

@[thedungbeetle:36077] how can you say it's a shallow song about his former addiction to heroin. It's actually pretty accurate from one addict in recovery to another. Obviously you don't know about addiction personally. Maybe if you did you would understand. Dave beat his addiction to heroin like he also did to cigarettes & alcohol. It's a dark & accurate song about addiction & even overdose. Been following the band since 96. I know what I'm talking about.

@[weathermanbob:36076] no way he was never shooting meth...esp back when this song came out. He used to be a heroin addict a long time ago. That's what it's about. He even may have overdosed. But I have been a fan for 30 years...I know about him & his past.

I think the song is amazing. It's about Dave's battle w heroin back in the day. I believe he overdoses in the song at the end. Not sure if that happened to him in real life or not. It's a great comfort to this addict in recovery. Addiction lasts your whole life & this song covers all of it perfectly. Just curious if he really did overdose in real life. Anyone know? Been a fan for 30 years & never got a definitive answer on this.
