It seems like the writer might be looking through Christ's eyes through their own understanding. Some of it is true though. God doesn't believe we can save ourselves. And He's right. After a while killing a bull for sacrifice becomes just killing a bull. We are only capable of doing so much, especially in this flesh. God made himself lower than the angles to save us. So anyone who believes in Jesus will not go to Hell, no the Lake of Fire. They will not experience the second death. So you believe in Jesus to receive the gift of salvation. Because only God can save us from what's going on, especially spiritually. When you believe in Christ we receive the Holy Spirit.
