Tori Amos – In the Springtime of His Voodoo Lyrics 4 years ago
Ok. I think I might get (some of this).
The reference to Mr. Sulu and warp speed is a Star Trek reference, I believe. And, the idea is that the relationship is in an uncomfortable spot, and she would very much like to get out of it, probably as fast as possible, hence the reference to warp speed.
"And I know she's not that/Foxy Boys but you gotta owe something sometimes", is most likely a reference to the girl's sexuality, and a demand on the boy's part to step up to his place in the relationship, sexually speaking and otherwise. I'm getting some Raspberry Swirl vibes in this verse.
Anyway, that's the best I can make of it for right now.

I guess I just felt like the lines
"I can be cruel I don't know why" were more like "I can be cruel, I don't know why life is so unfair." Because that's connected with the balloon and the windy sky.

@[mikeygoestohollywood:35504] Hmm. I don't know if she's speaking from God's perspective.
The way I interpreted it was her feeling bitter about how hard and unfair life is, and so it's sort of her feeling cruel and bitter in not knowing why the unfortunate thing (miscarriage) happened to her. I could be wrong, though. Tori's songs are often a bit difficult to understand.
