This song narrates the story of a person who goes through emotional turmoil and heartbreak, ultimately finding themselves questioning their sense of freedom and purpose. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the journey the person takes to find solace and understanding in their life. In the first verse, the "house on a hill" represents a seemingly ideal or elevated place, while the "boy" signifies a romantic interest. The boy's anger and the subsequent breaking into the protagonist's heart metaphorically represent the emotional damage and pain caused by the failed relationship. The second verse shows the protagonist attempting to cope with the situation by staying beside the boy, but eventually realizing there is no hope for resolution. They come down the hill, symbolizing their decision to leave the relationship and the pain that comes with it. The chorus reflects the protagonist's struggle to find meaning in their newfound freedom. They acknowledge that it's a good thing to be free, but still feel lost and unsure of what to do with themselves. In the final verse, the protagonist seeks comfort at a bar by the dock, engaging in conversation with a stranger. The stranger offers a cigarette, which the protagonist accepts, signifying a desire to temporarily escape the pain and confusion of their situation. This is an allegory of a new relationship that protagonist considers a mistake, something that she jumped into to ease the pain, but which only proved that nothing compares to her true love, and she regrets even trying. As the cigarette burns to the end, meaning the short new relationship comes to inevitable end, the protagonist reminisces about the boy, indicating that despite everything, they still haven't entirely moved on. Overall, the song captures the complexity of human emotions and the struggle to find purpose and direction after a heartbreak. It highlights the journey of self-discovery and the need for introspection to heal and move forward. |

These lyrics convey a complex emotional situation where the narrator experiences conflicting feelings about someone who might be involved with another person. Let's break it down line by line: "I got that feeling That bad feeling that you don't know I don't even know her But I hope that She comforts you tonight" The narrator has a negative feeling about a situation involving someone else, and they seem to be concerned about another person's well-being. The narrator doesn't know the person in question (likely a woman), but they hope she is able to comfort the individual they care about. Likely, a new partner of narrator's ex-partner. "Nobody here That keeps you in the shade And ever owned you Some sentimental tears Or someone else's girl that drips away" The lyrics suggest that there is no one present who is trying to keep the person of interest hidden or controlled. The "sentimental tears" could represent a past relationship or emotional connection that has faded. "Someone else's girl that drips away" could imply that the person they care about is involved with someone else, but that relationship might be slipping away. "But I somehow slowly love you And wanna keep you The same" Despite the complicated situation, the narrator finds themselves slowly falling in love with the person of interest. They have a desire to maintain the current state of their relationship or the person's situation, perhaps because they feel this is best for them. "Well, I somehow slowly know you And wanna keep you Away" The narrator is also gradually getting to know the person they care about. However, there is a conflicting desire to keep the person away, possibly to protect themselves from the pain that could come from being involved in this complex emotional situation. Overall, these lyrics depict a narrator who is experiencing a mix of love, concern, and protectiveness for someone involved in a complicated relationship. They are torn between wanting to keep the person close and keeping them at a distance to avoid potential emotional pain. |

@[gragule:35442] The song is clearly about abortion, but I don't think it's about organ selling and stuff. The jar is reference to formaldehyde jar, I think. And it's "Her heart is in my mouth, but still keep pounding", not "my heart". I assume it means that she feels her daughter is still living in her memory, and the beating heart in mouth is a reference to Semele from Greek mythology, a story of Dyonisus who was torn apart when his mother, pregnant with him, was murdered. His heart was saved by Athena, and Zeus gave it to Semele - she ate it, and that impregnated her. So, the song is about a second chance of having a baby after previous abortion. |
