Passenger – Flight of The Crow Lyrics 5 years ago
I think this song beautifully crafts around the concept of life on repeat. The narrator, Passenger, is conveying how easy it is to get caught in a loop day after day and not live life to the fullest

It's clear that the life isn't enjoyable either, as he mentions that he's tired of it it in the very beginning.

I think the road represents safety and comfort. You stay on the same repeated life, be it by day, week, or month, but never live life to its full potential because you stay in the comfort of the road rather than venture beyond. the road becomes narrow as you feel less comfortable doing things you used to do. as the road gets narrower, your life becomes less and less interesting, leaving you feeling dull and constantly bored. for example, when you're a kid you feel much more comfortable doing something risky than when you're older.

As much as you want to break the cycle, you can't. the road never ends, and its all the same. everyone wants an easy way out, but you can't get one. in this case, perhaps some kind of exit that allows you to break off the road without risk and danger. of course, this never happens, you have to break free and make your own path to experience something new.

Passenger, as he does so often, is able to brilliantly emotions and struggle in this song. this one shows the pain in day to day life and how it all seems the same. from flying through life only ever recognizing landmarks, the birthdays and new years, to the "vanishing point," the unachievable goal on the false image of life, as a mirage (shimmering road).

The flight of the crow itself may very well mean the journey to death, as a single crow is an omen of bad luck and death. This further builds on not fully experiencing life, and rather simply driving straight with the only achievement being the end, not the journey.
