| I did not see anything apocalyptical about this song. To me, it is a pretty simple story when the lyrics are taken into consideration as a whole. I believe the reference to "come all you faithful...." is a reference to his preacher father. As a whole, it appears that the subject of this song was banished "banishing deed" for being what he was (rock star) due to the judgement of his father who was a preacher. You see the words "space brain" and "vagabond" which seem to refer to his parents (possibly) passing judgement on him which resulted in him having to leave home. "Thar she blows" could be a reference to his mother who is "spreading crazy news". I always wondered if this song is auto-biographical or semi-auto-biographical. Guess only Alice would know! | |
