| I forgot to mention the best part of the song. Dispite everything I just said. There is never any question of her devotion or "virtue". She sincerely cares for this other person. No matter how he\she treats her. You can hear it in Tracy's tone of voice. And the words. That's what makes the song so great. | |

I think you two missed the point. I agree that on my first listen through I thought it was a nice happy song. However after listening more carefully you can tell it's a sad song. You can hear it in Tracy's voice. Only in her "dreams and visions" does her lover reach out to her. It seems to me that her lover never praises her strengths only her "faults". Or isn't good enough... Why is she talking about being lonely and asking to be saved from the "rapture". We're talking doomsday here. |
