How many people can hear the same wrong lyrics - laughably wrong - lyrics, and believe it for years? Let me help. "As I reach for a peach, slide a ride down behind a chauffeur in St. Tropez" Now, isn't that better than "sliding a rind behind a sofa"? And it's "Drinking champagne like a big tycoon", not a good tycoon. Also, just to be clear, the song has nothing to do with World War I or II. As you may know, Roger Waters came from humble beginnings. Champagne, chauffeurs, tycoons, sedan boats were all wonders to him. He was amazed he was having the experience he was. Even if there were no rinds behind the sofa. |
