If I knew Amy as a friend, I would urge her not to perform Blood and Fire. The song talks about self harm. In the recording and videos, it's like Amy is reliving something painful. She commented "it would be dishonest" to perform it now. I guess that means "acting" something that was so real for her. And that this intense, beautiful song may romanticize self-destructive actions. |
