What I feel this song is portraying is a couple that's involved in a long distance relationship. It could be due to work our trying to accomplish life's goals which requires one of them to constantly be on the move. It's bringing pain to the both of them. The strain becomes evident when one partner is trying to prove that they are in a committed relationship and the other seems to have bad timing when trying to communicate by phone. Although they are both making the best of their situation by making weekend visits, the situation still takes a toll on their relationship. |

What I feel this song is portraying is a young woman growing up and facing life. Her mother and father have set certain standards that she would want to live by but at the same time she doesn't want to settle. Trying to understand the difference between getting what she wants but at the same time trying not to settle makes life harder and harder. The more she tries to find out what she wants in life, the more the standards that she was taught to live by fades. |
