I have to really agree with singmeanythingx. Actually reading her opinion changed my mind on the two verses' meaning. To me the two verses aren't the parts that really catch my attention or have the most meaning to me. "So I tell myself, I tell myself it’s wrong. There’s a point we pass from which we can’t return. I felt the cold rain of the coming storm. All because of you" I think here is when he realizes there is going to be change... and it feels wrong because it's not what he wants. But there is a point you reach where it's to late to go back... you HAVE to move forward. "I haven’t slept in so long, When I do I dream of drowning in the ocean, Longing for the shore where I can lay my head down, I’ll follow your voice, All you have to do is shout it out." You can't sleep and when you do your afraid to because of your dreams. All you want is a night of sleep where your mind it at rest but the thoughts of her are calling to you. "All because of you, I believe in angels. Not the kind with wings, No, not the kind with halos, The kind that bring you home, When home becomes a strange place. I’ll follow your voice, All you have to do is shout it out" I agree here that this is a really powerful part of the song. I believe this is talking about friends. You don't want to go home, not just the home you shared with that person but other places like family events, etc. It feels strange without her. But your friends and family make you do those things. |

I relate to this song being about a really bad breakup. "This place rings with echoes of Lives once lived but now are lost Time spent wondering about tomorrow..." Being in an apartment after he/she leaves. You think back to all the routines, the time spent with that other person. And you constantly think about tomorrow... does it get worse or better? "“I don’t love you anymore” is all I remember you telling me Never have I felt so cold I have no more blood to bleed As my heart has been draining into the sea" To sit there and have someone tell you they don't love you when you love them more than anything is the worst. You really feel like something is dying inside. "Since I’ve taken your footsteps Getting me closer to what is left Of the dreams of what I once claimed to know" To me that is saying... your taking that other person's road of just not caring, letting go. You give up caring just trying to find something normal again. "Within my bones this resonates Boiling blood will circulate Could you tell me again what you did this for?" He/She's pissed. Everything you thought normal, all your plans/dreams were torn away when the other person left. All you really want to know now is why? I can really relate to this song. I really got into Rise Against because of it when my wife and I divorced. Great song whatever your opinion on the meaning though. |

I really think this song is just about starting over. Perhaps after a really tough time in life. "So I run, hide and tear myself up I'll start again with a brand new name And eyes that see into infinity" He's hiding away into himself, tearing himself up over something. Then he decides to start over, to start again and he sees clearly. "I was almost there Just a moment away from becoming unclear Ever get the feeling you're gone" He was close to the edge, ready to lose it whether that be sanity or life. The lowest point of his rough time or depression or both. I can relate to that meaning. But it's just an opinion. |

| this song is a hard one. to me i can see parts that are talking about searching for something... mayble searching for who the singer is. and at the end of his search he can finally rest and be at peace with himself. he also has obstacles such as finding what is real and what is fake in life and also dealing with emotions. but that is just my opinion... great song tho | |

| i agree with deafworm. this is mine and my gf's song. we have had problems in the past and she left me but i still loved her and she saw that eventually and we are back together now. just like in the song its "you and me up and down this time but maybe this time we'll get it right" we didnt last the first time but this time we will make it last. then "it's hard to forget the past" and "it was good, it was bad but it was real and thats all you have" again we have had our fights and out nights but our love is still love. i think its a good song and fits me and my girlfriend perfectly. love u angel | |
