I think this song is about someone he lost and how he struggles with that. It's like he just wants to talk him/her but he can't since their gone. I don't think this song is about religion, it seems as if it's about a loss. When he says "why won't you speak, where I happen to be," it seems as if he just wants to talk to them so badly but he can't because their really not there. This song honestly makes me sad and I don't see this as a religious song at all. |

I feel like Jaymes is basically saying that he needs to feel something, anything, it doesn't matter what it is, as long he doesn't feel numb anymore. When he says the first verse: "I don't care if it hurts, I'll pay my weight in blood To feel my veins wake up So love me now or let me go Let me feel these highs and lows before the doors to my heart close," It sounds like he is saying "either hurt me more or make me feel better." He just wants to feel something. It doesn't matter if it's pain or happiness, he just doesn't want to feel numb. "So if you're gonna stay, then stay But if you're gonna go Make sure that you hurt me just enough to make me feel something." This song is not a happy one at all, it's truly really sad. He just either wants more pain or something to make him feel happier to please himself to get rid of all of the "numbness" he feels. |
