This song is not given enough credit. This song had one meaning which isn't recognized enough. Like You and Hello are also about 3 year old Bonnie who died of still unknown to this day circumstances. A lot of people think this is a love song, which can easily be mistaken, this song should be credited a lot. I'm so tired of being here Suppressed by all my childish fears ~ So Amy was scared of losing her family. When she lost her sister, she was overwhelmed with anxiety, depression, along the sorts/ And if you have to leave I wish that you would just leave 'Cause your presence still lingers here And it won't leave me alone ~Amy is sad and a little angry too. She's mad at herself for not being able to get over Bonnie. She sees things that remind her of Bonnie and things that make her think Bonnie is still there. She wishes that Bonnie was still there and her mind would stop the deceiving games. These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase ~It talks about how the pain is too real, like an open wound. Bonnie and Amy were very close and it felt like when Bonnie died, a part of Amy died too. To this day, Amy still has those pains in the stomach about her sister. It basically is saying how hat hole can't be closed. The door opened and can't be closed again. When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have all of me ~ Amy was always there for Bonnie. She was like her second mother. Bonnie was the light in Amy's life. When Bonnie died, Amy was left with only memories and her belongings. Her face would bring her nightmares, which once brought her happiness and whenever she heard Bonnie's voice, it made her feel crazy. Amy missed/misses Bonnie so much that she barely could stand knowing Bonnie wasn't there anymore. This is my absolute favorite song and I'm sick of people not taking it seriously. Amy Lee lost both her siblings and this one was to 3 year old Bonnie who died of unknown to this day circumstances. This is not a love song, it is a funeral song. Here is the meaning. Playground school bell rings again Rain clouds come to play again ~ This sets the mood of a very sad day that literally changed Amy forever Has no one told you she's not breathing? ~ Her sister is given death at this point of the song Hello I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to Hello ~ After a death, everyone feels emotional. A three year old girl dying 1988 of unknown circumstances is horrifying. Amy felt like she lost a part of herself when losing Bonnie. She felt alone and hopeless, like she had no one to talk to. If I smile and don't believe Soon I know I'll wake from this dream Don't try to fix me I'm not broken Hello I'm the lie living for you so you can hide Don't cry ~ Like everyone, she went through that phase of how she didn't want to believe Bonnie was gone. She tried to hold it in and not accept that Bonnie was dead. She kept trying to convince herself that somehow, Bonnie was alive, but sadly, she was just distraught. Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping Hello I'm still here All that's left of yesterday ~Amy had brought herself to realize that Bonnie was dead and nothing she did would change that. This song is all about the process Amy Lee had while dealing with her sisters death. This is one of the reasons Amy is Amy and how she is. Bonnie's death will forever be remembered. |

This song is hauntingly beautiful. It perfectly suits '13 Reasons Why'. The song meaning below: This song describes how a relationship is too honest to be true- doomed from the start. This song is a little hard to keep up with. I am not the only traveler Who has not repaid his debt I've been searching for a trail to follow again Take me back to the night we met ~ So this describes how he's trying to find someone new, but can't. He just wishes that he could be taken back "to the night we met". He knows how he played part in how the relationship would never work out, but they seem to try anyways throughout the song. Greatest song written by him so I'll gladly explain Labrinth is describing how he missing his ex, how he's Jealous of how he can't be her number one anymore. He describes how he's waiting for the days to come where she comes back, missing him, which we later find out, never happens. He says how he's dying day by day without her. Even though he can't be happy with her, he eventually wishes her happiness- even if it wasn't him. He says how he wants to know who she found, what he does that he couldn't do for her. This song is a perfect description for when your missing an ex or even if it's your husband/wife/boy/girl. |

This is one of my favorite songs so I will gladly share the meaning. (I was sleeping in the garden when I saw you first) So, this describes Adam from Genesis being put to sleep in the Garden of Eden so God could make Eve (He'd put me deep, deep under so that he could work) This goes into further detail of him sleeping so Eve could be created. (And like the dawn you broke the dark and my whole earth shook) When Eve entered his life, he was lonely before. He has someone to be with now. She broke his loneliness ( if that makes sense ) I was sleeping in the garden when I saw you ( repetition ) (At last, at last Bones of my bones and flesh of my flesh, at last) This describes how God made Eve from Adam's own flesh (You were the brightest shade of sun I had ever seen Your skin was gilded with the gold of the richest kings And like the dawn you woke the world inside of me You were the brightest shade of sun when I saw you) This all describes how he loved her and adored her (At last, and you will surely be the death of me But how could I have known?) I posted this on the Bon Iver version too. This song is about a girl named Roslyn who sadly commits suicide to a bad relationship. The biggest clue to this is "Won't, Won't let you talk me down," which is indicating that no matter how hard someone tried to convince her everything would be alright, she refused to listen. He says "Aren't we just terrified" which could either reference them being scared that she is going to commit the suicide or after when they discover she has. Shale- one of the first words- a rock that breaks easily. Either indicating when she does jump off the cliff which is shown when it says "sea and rock below ( the rock being shale )" it breaks. It also shows that she is on some sort of cliff. Bones, blood, and teeth erode, they will be crashing low is basically describing her body breaks and rots. Erode means ( in a small way ) to wither. Wing's wouldn't help you describes that she has jumped, and there's no going back now. Down toward the ground, gravity's proud- means she's falling down. You barely blinking is showing that she is dying. When'd this just become a mortal home- a mortal is something that can die. This song is very sad and should not be taken very light-heartedly |
