This is clearly about the papers, government, media telling us a bunch of "rats and painted lies". There are starving kids and people on the streets, there are mentally broken people, and people with no homes. This song is about hope in the "new generation" to change what this world has become and make it right again. "Raise your voice, dont let them break you down, free the youth, dont let them break you down". Them being the corporations and the governments who are ruining our nation. It's faith that the youth will help "get what we deserve". |

Personally I think this song is about the control the media has over us. How it causes "brain damage", yet we carry on "living like robots" in our day to day lives accepting everything, questioning nothing. My favourite verse is definitely the "fuck that!" Verse. They exclaim we are "blinded" by the "serpent". Blinded obviously being not seeing through the lies, ans serpent also being a snake, being a liar. Often the media and the faces we see on the media are lies. That we believe, hes saying "fight back", and "stabbing your scaled skin body". The serpent may even be the people in power, as alot of people describe them as lizards. Or it may be the media in general. Eitherway, this song involves breaking out the mould and not allowing yourself to be manipulated and blinded by the media. |
