@[ilovehoratio:33687] There are a few ways that work better for me. Whenever you feel numb or in the need of pain, do something that "harnesses" it. Do something where being numb is good, where it helps you hide. I'll give you a few things for me. The best way to describe something like that is whatever puts you in a state of Flow (as in the book Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi) SUPER Long Name Basically, what you're doing looks like hard work to others (or it seems to take dedication and time), but you feel happy doing it. Actually, you don't feel anything. For me: 1. Writing about my problems (in poems/stories/songs/diary entries) and publishing them anonymously using Wattpad 2. Making origami 3. Playing videogames All of these use my in pain feelings and help me cope -- I'm too focused on what I'm doing (hard level in my game, hard origami fold, etc) to think of anything harmful Try to find something like that, where your focus and attention makes it all numb, rather than painful |
