Typical Dylan’s approach to chaos and nonsensical world of evil. He never wanted to lead a revolution or wage a war. He knows who you are and he tells you he doesn’t care. Dylan is not a prophet, he just wants to be left alone. Because, as you may not know yet, everything is broken. And so, the ultimate answer to your craziness is in the beautiful imagery of what he’s going to do for you and it is: flipping you a finger. “ Resting in the fields, far from the turbulent space, Half asleep near the stars with a small dog licking your face.” |

| Bob Dylan – All Along the Watchtower Lyrics | 5 years ago |
| Dylan is just pulling your leg. He is actually playing with all of you and you fell in his trap. You search for a meaning and feel disturbed and confused. The joker and the thief are you. You look for the way out, feel confused, you are looking for relief. But he is not going to give you one, he wants to see you sweat, you little selfish, ignorant people. And as you search and feel confused and unsettled, Bob is having his wicked fun. You see, if he wanted you to understand his lyrics, he would explain it to you. But he didn’t. His lines can be read any way imaginable and he wanted to be that way. That’s his genius. The purpose is playful confusion. He throws the wild cat growl on top of it and you see two horsemen and he smiles wryly as he puffs on his joint. That’s Bob, guys, let it go, there is no meaning he said. He said he doesn’t know Bob who wrote it. And that’s the beauty of it. You are free to interpret this song any way you want at a time. Any way it suits you. | |
