This song seems to be about the damage that parents unwittingly cause their children by forcing their own ambitions onto their children. Such as a parent deciding that their child WILL be a doctor or a lawyer with no regard for what the child may want for themself. Then, when the child comes to the realization that this is either not what they wanted or that they feel it is too late to change trajectory, they are left feeling robbed of their agency. |

Barring this being a pop-culture or movie inspired song, it sounds like two people in a deeply dysfunctional, very codependent, and manipulative relationship. It is hard to tell who is saying what, but it seems like they each enjoy berating and minimizing each other. Just my 2 cents. |

| Wolfies Just Fine – Todd and Janelle Lyrics

The song is based on a scene from the movie Terminator 2. In the scene, Todd, John Connor's step-father, is complaining that the dog is barking loudly. The step-mother, Janelle, isn't herself (no spoilers here).
This is basically a character study of Todd. He's in a dark place and blames it all on his step-son. At the end of the song, Todd fells hope that John may not come home and he'll be able to repair the damage done to his relationship with Janelle. |
