Love and Rockets – The Dog-End of a Day Gone By Lyrics 5 years ago
Great song. The lyrics are sufficiently vague, but I surmise they're referencing Los Angeles when they say "City of Lights" and "City without a Soul". Most musicians have a love-hate relationship with the town. Plenty of kooks flogging religion and every Wendy's in Los Angeles has drunks and panhandlers. Still, the amusement arcade is addictive, and that's why so many musicians end up living there.

Ratt – Round And Round Lyrics 5 years ago
The lyric "tightening our belts, abuse ourselves" makes me think that the band is mashing love and seduction of some groupie girl with the romance that many of these Hollywood bands had with heroin. "I've had enough, cold in vein," etc. The lyrics are too vague to be certain of anything and it's doubtful that the members of RATT were literary geniuses. But, the song is great metal. Love it.
