Breaking Benjamin – Wish I May Lyrics 5 years ago
So my interpretation of the song is about big important dreams, a friend that left him and being physically and emotionally relyant on alcohol. Shove me under you again, I can't wait for this to end- he's talking to his friend. (Someone that Benjamin Burnley knew personally and was at one point close to. The friend is shoving Benjamin Burnley under, in other words being self-centered... putting himself/herself before him or just in general not being a supportive friend on Benjamin burnley's career and being a successful musician or his other dreams. (Whatever else they may be) he's sober, I personally think he's forcing himself to be sober for his career. He's somewhat sort of feeling empty and or numb inside his mind. He knows he can never win an argument with his friend, or he can never win emotionally, in a battle against his emotions. Why should he half to wait for his career to take off, for his dreams to come true. "I'll just look the other way". Personally, in my interpretation this means he has to look in other area's, in other people's points of views to become successful. Meaning to think from a fans perspective "if I was a fan or listener... what would I want to hear?. "I can see you suffocate, I can find no other way. He's out of ideas, He can't find another way to get along with his friend and make their friendship work because he is so unsupportive &Self centered, he can find no other way to get threw to him. "I can see you suffocate" you got me on this one.... probably referring metaphorically to the arguments that him and his friend are having. "We left this land of shiny lights" he left his home town/ home city to go make his dreams come true.

Breaking Benjamin – Dear Agony Lyrics 5 years ago
About a person (possibly Benjamin Burnley himself) suffering severe emotional or physical pain. "I have nothing left to give
I have found the perfect end" the person has been feeling very down and depressed and is saying that he feels like he has nothing left to give the world or any "person place or thing) he has found the perfect way to die (commit suicide) and is planning to do so. "You were made to make it hurt, disappear into the dirt." he is speaking directly to the person who hurt him, saying "I think/know you were intentionally trying to hurt me, now it's time for me to disappear (die) or (commit suicide) "Carry me to heaven's arms
Light the way and let me go" he's asking to be relieved of his duties here on Earth, lifted towards the light and to be carried to heaven where his emotional or physical pain will be no more. Dear Agony
Just let go of me
Suffer slowly
Is this the way it's got to be?
Dear Agony.
He's speaking directly to his physical or emotional pain. Ask it to go away, asking it to leave him alone. asking it to be no longer.
He's suffering a slow painful/ depressing life.
He's asking if this is the only way, asking if there's another way, a way out of his pain/depression.
"Don't bury me, faceless enemy" depression or pain doesn't have a face, obviously. "Faceless" means he asking not to die because he realizes that his pain might not stick around forever. Don't bury me or same thing as saying "don't let me die" The rest is pretty soft explainatory this is more of a straightforward song than a lot of the bands other songs

The Sleeping – Don't Hold Back Lyrics 5 years ago
This song is about giving into lustful thoughts. Sexually Fantasizing over a minor, Wanting to take sexual advantage of a minor adolescent female. This song I really relate to because I had the chance to take advantage of an adolescent female yet didn't because I have self control. The adult man wants the adolescent minor female to give herself Sexually to him for one night, he wants to see her in a way that he hasn't seen her before "naked" he wants his sexual fantasies to come true. While the adolescent female isn't quite as educated as him on sexual relations. She's a virgin I would assume and he's ecstatic about that. But much more than that, there's also the emotional connection and the adult man is asking adolescent female to not hold back or resist anything sexual. He feels protective over her. There's an emotional connection as well as a physical, sexual connection. But he also thinks he can control her. Like he feels he has power over her since he's older. He seems to be able to manipulate her into giving him what he wants. Like "this is how I feel for you, I want to have sex with you, I know this is wrong but come on let's do it open up to me and let your feelings spill out on me" open up to me. Give me what I want) so he seems to have a "Devil May Care Attitude" about it like. Let's have sex, I know it's wrong (I'll deal with the consequences later) type attitude.

Breaking Benjamin – Dance With The Devil Lyrics 5 years ago
-----(sorry I accidentally clicked post before I was done writing) The way I relate to this song is when your constantly battling your mind. It's like a fight to the death against your better judgement as an adult, against the young naive troublemaker inside of you. Although it's deeper than that. It's very emotionally degrading losing self respect for yourself, your losing all direction in life. Losing one's self, going through a spiral of emotions that you can't control. The term "dance with the devil" means engage in risky or dangerous behavior. So imagine that you're going through depression and all of a sudden your in a mania phase. ( So this song really relates to my bipolar and other mental illnesses)

Breaking Benjamin – Polyamorous Lyrics 5 years ago
Benjamin Burnley is known for writing songs for the band that we can fully immerse ourselves in emotionally and sometimes even physically relate to these things. So now I'll start explaining the song. So Benjamin Burnley has strong feelings for his female friend who is polyamorous. Benjamin Burnley is somewhat okay with her polyamorous beliefs. He's new to polyamory, Yet at the same time is hesitant and honestly deep down inside feels a little dirty and guilty for being with someone and or participating in polyamory (sex) because he was brought up and raised to be against these types of relationships. He has strong feelings for her and really hopes that sometime in the near future that she'll agree to be committed with him and only him but she continues with her polyamorous way sucking him in to a heap load of trouble. It doesn't say in the song exactly. But I think he probably dodged a bullet here. (metaphorically) Benjamin Burnley could have almost become a sex offender but do to his career and fame he dogged that sex offender charge. That's just the way I view it I guess.

Breaking Benjamin – Far Away Lyrics 5 years ago
Breaking Benjamin is a great band. Benjamin Burnley is known for writing songs we can fully immerse ourselves in emotionally and a way to relate to the songs the way we choose to

Breaking Benjamin is not by any means a religious band but they do have some songs that really relate to religion.

Far away on the Aurora album is a great song. It's about the rapture. The day that all of our souls (the faithful ones or religious ones are lifted up to heaven and finally are given peace.

"Cold walk the Earth, love faded wide"
I think this means that all cold souls, emotionless people (bad people) still walk the earth after the (faithful to god people) have been called up to heaven. "Love faded wide" this means that the people who weren't emotionless, the people who loved and cared for one another are faded from earth and guided towards the lights of heaven. At the end of the music video scooter ward is pulled up to heaven through the white light. Benjamin Burnley on the other hand is down below, looking up at him being guided up to heaven.
I think Benjamin Burnley is trying to tell us something here. Maybe there's something that he has done in the past that he feels could result in him being left behind after the rapture. He feels guilty for it.
"Sorrow has left me here" he's sad, depressed... Depression has left him on earth to reflect on what he's done. He wants to go to heaven but he's afraid to cross over because he thinks he might go to hell. He's begging that he goes to heaven but at the end of the song he still stands on earth. He's left behind after the rapture. So he must not be going to heaven.

Something like that anyways.
