BadWolfBabe isn't entirely wrong in their opinion. This song is also linked to Ziggy Stardust, who is based after rock star Vince Taylor. David Bowie met Vince Taylor when Taylor was going through his breakdown, believing himself to be some sort of alien god. This continuation of Ziggy Stardust talks about how Taylor's decline into drugs and alcohol had made him believe he was prophet, Matthew the apostle, which he announced on stage in front of a large gig in London.
