| The song is about himself. When he was young he was afraid of rejection, so, he put up a wall and made a stranger of himself. He didn't allow himself to be vulnerable with others. In the second verse he tells a story about friends making fun of something he wrote... a poem or song lyrics. He was embarrassed so he joined in, not realizing the damage he was doing to himself. Then at the end, he is sitting with a pen and paper willing to be open about himself (listen to what is inside) and write something vulnerable. | |
