This struck really hard for me after recovering from deep depression. "Standing up on solid ground. The earth below my feet's still falling down." felt really symbolic of the image in my head of trying to find a platform to keep from falling into this black abyss in my head. The voices referenced for me weren't actual voices, or even schizophrenic voices, but instead the barrage of thoughts, and even moreso feelings, that felt like they were always tugging at me, trying to pull me under, and make me give in. Even thinking about it now is an incredibly powerful feeling. Absolutely love this song. |
