So... Morrissey is not gay. I do not believe this song has anything to do with sexual orientation, but if it makes your pride shine through good for you. I think this song is very relatable today as social anxiety and lack of self worth have been highlighted post covid. Something to note, it is Johnny Marr who is gay. Hi all. I have listened to this song pretty closely. I love this album and especially this song and the song before it Murderer. The lyric I changed is "Now I just dream about the holiday" Hes not dreaming about holidays in general, he is dreaming about the holiday that will be when the world is saved. Because he no longer has the drive or desire to save the world. Just as he doesn't have the drive or desire to write songs for his girl. All of the bad things in life have beaten him down and all those dreams and aspirations he once had are gone. And that is what the search party is for... This is a very sad and this is the meaning I see. |
