| Andy Black – Beautiful Pain Lyrics | 5 years ago |
|
For me, reading the lyrics, this song is about losing someone close to you. Based on the lyrics it could be about someone dieing young... "Your life was a shooting star That burned out way too fast" The rest of the lyrics are pretty clear, theres reference to afterlife and hoping you're at peace after moving on (if you believe in that kind of of thing). The song as a whole is about losing someone and thinking about them is painful but beautiful because of the good memories. |

| Andy Black – Love Was Made to Break Lyrics | 5 years ago |
|
Andy explained in an interview that he likes to think that his references to love in this album are not neccesarily a romantic love. So this song is about love in any form feeling like its disolving and how you can feel you just are going through the motions with a romantic partner or a close friend or whoever because that strong feeling you used to have for someone isnt there anymore. |

| Andy Black – Stay Alive (feat. Matt Skiba) Lyrics | 5 years ago |
| Andy explained this in an interview as being about surviving. Even if there is something negative going on in your life or around you that you can do nothing about as its out of your control, you still need to stay alive/survive through it. | |
| Andy Black – Ribcage Lyrics | 5 years ago |
|
Andy explained this song in an interview as being about feeling jaded. To me, at first glance the lyrics are about feeling heartbroken and or unloved. "Nothing left, now I'm feeling numb And just like you, I couldn't love someone There is no one, I can belong to" Then there's the chorus which is about trying to keep yourself safe by considering yourself closed off or to have no heart. "Nothing in the cage of my ribcage Got no heart to break, like it that way" I'm sure there are other people that can relate to this song in different circumstances too. |

| Andy Black – We Don't Have To Dance Lyrics | 5 years ago |

Andy has said himself in an interview that this song is about social anxiety which he suffers from himself even as a celebrity. The lyrics definitley express this idea. I think the following lines from the song perfectly summarise what he said in the interview and explain what people with social anxieties might be thinking in social events like parties. "We don't have to talk We don't have to dance We don't have to smile We don't have to make friends It's so nice to meet you Let's never meet again" I also feel like he's telling anyone with similar struggles that its OK to feel like this. |

| Andy Black – Homecoming King Lyrics | 5 years ago |
|
I think this song is about unrequited love and how the subject of the song is making a mistake by choosing to be with the "homecoming king" who based on the lyrics, is very popular and rich (turn a silver spoon into a diamond ring) and how over time they will realise their mistake when they look at what they have done with their life. The way Andy describes himself in this song is the opposite to the homecoming king, "here comes the invisible man that no one turns to see, just another dumb fool who'll never go down in history". So I feel its about not choosing to be with someone because of the status or wealth or you may find yourself "caught in the tower singing oh no thats not the life I chose". |
