@[muhannad77:40733] I absolutely agree with you. I listened to the song and my dad is in stage seven Alzheimer’s and we don’t have much time left. I don’t think it’s a romantic break up song I think it’s him watching somebody that he loves move on into the next whatever it is and he is struggling. With that much I will never listen to the song again. Oh Lord I am a basket case. I’m so sorry for your loss. This whole losing parents business just pretty much sucks |

My dad is now in stage seven Alzheimer’s. We are reaching the end of the road. He has always been my very best friend on earth. I know everybody says their dad is the greatest but the man was without flaw. I don’t feel like this is the end of a relationship I feel like he it is him watching a friend or a family member decline into the inevitable darkness. And with that being said I will never listen to the song again. What an ass kicker |

I’ve always thought the song was incredible, it speaks to me in volumes in that we, well I ESPECIALLY get hung up on people that don’t deserve my attention, essentially lost causes that are not willing or capable of change. the way we (I) get trapped in dead-end situations that we cannot begin to solve. I think it’s just a human foible but it has plagued me my entire life, getting drawn into the muck of darkness and shadows, bitterness and patterns that are not mine to own, but I take them on for some unknown reason and that rescue behavior is really tough to break. I’m really trying to get out from underneath the weight of this trait. It has never served me well yet. I have absolutely no clue if this is what this song is in reference to but that’s how I read it |

Jerry said in an interview this was about a girl he really loved but was incapable of being faithful to. Not all of their music or even half of it is about drugs however due to the demise of half the band everybody reads into it that way. The heaven beside him was the girl that he loved but the hell within was his inability to maintain the course of monogamy. These guys are really one of my all-time favorite bands. I hate the fact they fall into the box of the generic “ “grunge” genre there are so many facets to their music that are more than that |
