I'd interperet the song as being about escapism when living with borderline personality disorder. More specifically in the form of dissociating or being madly in love. She sings "without a face, number or name", which sounds like she lacks identity. Like if you were dissociating. "Here we could stay, it feels nice to get away, from all the pain, the world has gone insane" Dissociating is often a way to defend yourself from stress so it feels nice to get away from all the pain, I'm assuming it's about borderline since it's common to dissociate when you are borderline and it's to defend yourself and let you "get away from all the pain" and stress that comes with having borderline. Also because of her song borderline, and her song autopilot which also seems to fit in on dissociating. The "the world has gone insane" would be derealization. The second verse about being in love when borderline. You only see that person and you "get away from all the pain". I don't know if this makes sense or if it's about something completaly else. Anyway it's my interpretation. |
