If you listen closely and take Will as portraying characters in a way, the beginning, first mention of Azrael sounds like elation and power. Later he sounds like realization is flooding in and he sounds tormented. Ending in the full pig squeal. The truth, that is what his soul is. |

Once again wrong. It's about selling your soul, for money, fame, sex, whatever. And realizing that you got nothing compared to throwing your soul away. It is meaningless. What the hell have I? The fire burning around them is literal. Maybe that's why the world is dying. Your interpretation is how the lyrics relate to you. It's shocking to me. Rarely do people think beyond themselves, they attribute feelings to complete strangers. Not all about you. |

It's about a demon. Simple. They want nothing more than to be inside of you. A demons tale of being buried although demons never lived. They envy the warmth we take for granted because they can't ever experience life. Once they get in they can't handle all of the sensations, they hate you even more, most people who have hosted one die by suicide. I can say from experience that the taint of the things never lessens even if you are strong enough to force them to vacate you. Heroin is nothing. Staley was a host. Modern people are so proud of themselves for wiping their asses, and walking on their feet they forget that they weren't the first, aren't the best, won't be the last. PS. There's a thing you would consider to be a God. It doesn't give a flying fuck about you. |
