The video shows a modern day Arc, the boys are entering at the VIP door as they see Madonna and Lenny kravitz etc enter but they didnt enter at that door infact they’re mistaken and at the end they have their apparent egos and arrogance of getting in the Arc knocked when in fact theyre pot washers and cleaners hahaha love the twist . The song however i think is about someone leaving someone they love or once loved or theyre dying maybe and ‘have’ to leave. Gorgeous song bst heard live in my opinion (all 3 playing guitars on YouTube -awesome)

This isnt about their early fame. This was written at the same time as the first album . During the early years of recording they wrote (Mainly pal)and recorded a huge amount of tracks those tracks then made up the first few albums. It does feel like they are trying to escape a dystopian place.... is this how they saw the world? They all became very deep thinkers and morten in particular has worked a lot as a political activist on the climate & East Timor writing a book ad music around this ... so it could be metaphoric imagery of trying to escape a loveless world of selfishness , hate and lies and getting back to nature and love and what should really matter?.... they have always written deep intellectual music even as very young men. Mainly Pal back then as is well known but his talent rubbed off I think.

I think that the song is talking about depression , at times I thought maybe selfishness but I think from experience they can come together. People become distant but when morten sings ‘if you let me go again into the shadowside I’ll end’ it infers he’s talking about suicide . ‘The shadowside where I go, is never where I’m needed so’ .... so moving and relatable .... another beautifully intelligent song from a-ha
