I remember hearing this song in high school and it always spoke to me. Now, this song seems to apply to my son, some 25 years later. I believe this song is about the struggles of having faith in someone...a close friend, or a partner and them breaking that trust...that faith you have in them The weight, the burden...it drags you down, it falls on you..... |

20 years into the future, and yes...I agree. It's such a simple song about love between two people....the type of love when your drunk, and watching Hackers...and it makes you think of that someone special in your life, that you have been through some stuff...whether it be forgetting to talk about some plans for the weekend, and a fight ensues, or they just do something really special for you...you just love them, regardless, because there is just something there, and you don't care who knows about it. |

To be completely honest, this song spoke to me. I was in a really dark place. I was ready. I was listening to some music on my patio before. Fate had another plan apparently. This song came on. It felt like Henry grabbed me by the f***ing collar and was yelling my face., and told me I was worth a damn. Ever since then, I have remembered this song. "If you could see the you that I see, When I see you, You would see things differently, I assure you" It made me realize that I am only viewing myself from the lens of my own thoughts. I reached out to my friends and family, and they saw a different person. It snapped me out of my dark place. Henry Rollins saved my life. |
