| It's about a person who idolizes and follows the actions of a famous person, possibly the royal family. they don't live in london, but the royal family member/famous person does. the name "Half a person" is because they nearly copy this persons actions, and they don't really think for themselves. They become successful and have enough money to go to london and live there, but upon telling people about this, they say they liked them more when they "were hoplessly poor." they move to london and go to a YWCA (I think it says "I booked myself in at the Y-WCA" instead) and get a job as a back scrubber in exchange for a room. they eventully meet this person and tell them the story of their life in 5 seconds, explaining how hard they worked to get there, but then they reject them as being "morbid and pale." | |
